Today was my first day working on the mural project. I was late to class because my bus is always late. I almost couldn’t find the classroom. The mural is beautiful, and it’s not even done yet. Yomna and I are working on outlines right now, and we got our hands covered in sticky black paint. I also got some of that thick stuff on my shirt-I hope it will wash out! The weather was crazy! First, it was so hot that I could hardly stand it. Then it looked like we were going to get a rainstorm and finally, It was nice and cool. Not too hot and not too windy, just perfect for painting on a cement wall. Nebraska’s weather sure is crazy. That’s all I can think of to write for now.

Today was great. I got to work on whiting out the mistakes and fixing black lines. It was very tiring. Both of our teachers were here today, and that is a good thing because there was so much to do that we needed an extra person. The mural is looking good. It’s so bright and colorful! I got paint all over my hands again, and a little black paint on my shirt. I’m glad It’s an old shirt. Thank you for reading my incoherent babbling!

My bus came late again today. When Darlyn and I got here, the class was already heading outside. The weather wasn’t exactly what I would call “perfect for painting” but we did paint. It was very hot outside. The mural is almost complete- it should be finished by Monday. Once again, I got to work on whiting out mistakes and slip-ups. This project is fun, and I hope that we can finish it soon so that other people in the community can enjoy it, too. Maybe we can call the newspaper and ask if they would like to do an article on the mural. I’m looking forward to finishing it. Thanks again for reading my journal!
