"I know you dig my RED hair!" Hello, my name is Whitton but some people call me shamus.  I am in the Mural class for the summer. June 7, 2006, Today we put a picture of different religions on the mural wall. Catalina and I had to find different religious symbols in the library. After that we helped Irene organize tables in the library.  Catalina also put a religious symbol than looks like 3-D with a pickle and a sun above it.  We outlined some of the figures we had on the wall. June 8, 2006, I came late to class but only a little.  Troy and I made music notes out of harps, chains, and microphones.  We put a lot of figures on the wall. There were the downtown slides and people flying around with flags on their backs instead of capes. Then we outlined most of the people in orange and yellow.  When we finished we washed of the brushes.  Then Mr. Keel gave me a cookie. After that we typed in these journals. June 9, 2006 We put more people and objects on the wall.  Then we outlined them in orange and yellow.  After that we went inside and ate snacks.  We also looked at color schemes for the mural.  We colored a black and white copy to see what it would look like colored.    June 12, 2006 Today we painted the grass on the wall.  We also painted the tops of the trees.  We didn’t have enough green paint so we have to get some more green paint.  After that we went in side and ate snack.  We watched the beginning of U.S.A. against Czech. June 13, 2006 We painted the tree bark and more of the grass today.  It took a long time because we had to paint inside all of the holes in the wall.  We ate snack upstairs today so we could look at the mural when we ate.  Then we went out side and got our picture taken.  I hope the mural stays on the wall until Marrs Magnet shuts down.  The mural is going to look great and I’m glad that I could be a part of it.                                                         Seamus O’Riley June 15, 2006 We watched Pink Panther really early in the morning. We pretty much lay around and didn’t do any thing than my dad picked me up and we went home. June 16, 2006 Today we did a lot of painting. First we painted all but 3 people.  Than we went and ate snack while the teachers started painting the sky. Than we painted over lines that we didn’t need with white.  We turned the Canadian flag into a Polish flag.  We took away a lot of lines that we didn’t need. June 19, 2006 Today we learned that people from other countries were looking at our mural project.  We painted the rest of the people in the mural. Mrs.Hergot mixed paint and I painted the pencil.  Today seemed a lot shorter than usual.   June 20, 2006 This is the last day this week that we will have this group.  At first we thought we would have to stay inside because of the rain. The rain stoped though so we got to go outside.  We have to repaint the flag because you could see the writing underneath the red.  Ruby and I painted the musical notes black, they stand out because black is really dark and all the colors around them are bright.  I painted some more yellow around the microphone and on the handle of one of the paintbrushes.  I am really looking forward to next week. June 21, 2006 Today is the first day of the last week.  Mr.AuchMoedy wasn’t here today and we were all really sad :^(.  Troy, Richard and I painted the slide black. We went out of the lines a little but not too much.  We thought it would rain so we got ready to run inside.  When we were done painting we went inside and cleaned out the brushes.  Mr. Keel told us how to get to the web page and type in our journals. After that we left.    June 22, 2006 Today we outlined and painted over mistakes all day long.  I outlined one of the trees and a lot of people.  I even outlined the dog.  Today Mr.AuchMoedy called some people in some other state so now they are watching our progress too.  We changed the regular soccer ball in to a world cup soccer ball.  I get to go swimming after this and it is going to be fun. June 23, 2006 This is the last day I will be here because I am going to a church camp.  We did a lot of outlining today.  The wall looks a lot better now.  I repainted a soccer player because he had a lot of white streaks in him.  I also painted the rainbow paintbrush.  I was using one kind of brown but their wasn’t enough of it so I had to use a different shade.  We did a lot of painting today.
