Novel Guide: The Borning Room

Story Synopsis
Life on the Ohio frontier, the Underground Railroad, and the Civil War are but some of the recollections Georgina Lott shares with the painter who has been hired to paint her portrait toward the end of her life. She lies in the room in which she was born and now prepares to die. In this flashback, we see what it was like to grow up female in a rural setting during this time period.

List three main topics. For each main topic, write three details that give information about the topic.
This is a great site to see actual photos of the trail the Mormons used to go west. What would you take a photo of if you were a pioneer traveling west? Make a " slide show" of your journey from school to home and then to one other location.
Research a woman of the west and prepare a presentation about the contribution to the American heritage by that individual.
